Biltmore

Lisa and I took the day on saturday to head to the Biltmore Estate out in Asheville. It was the first time I had been there, and I was amazed; the place is incredible. They had some kind of bizarre PT Cruiser get-together there, I can't believe people are that into that car...really?
A view from the Loggia
Thoroughly amazing gardens

This trip was more than worth taking a day off from being able to ride. Being a history teacher, I was really into learning the history of the house and the farm. Very cool.

Oh, yeah, and I got a ride in yesterday out at Dark Mountain, that was fun too, just no camera!

It's been a long time since I Rock and Rolled

Sorry for the recent lack of posts, as I stated previously, the camera went for an unintentional swim while fly fishing and I just got it back. I promised I would post up a few pictures from me and Lisa's hiking trip to Mount Rogers . There were all kinds of berries that were ripe when we got to the top of Pine Mountain, nice little trailside snacks everywhere!

I've been trying to do a little of riding lately because I have intentions of riding the brown county breakdown in Indiana. My brother lives about a half hour from where this event takes place. I've been trying to get over there for the last two years since he started riding in this event. The trails are much like the OVT in Wilkesboro, but are expanding on a weekly basis it seems. Last year the claim for the 100 miler was 92 miles of singletrack, a pretty amazing thing considering many other big races/events are typically more than 50% fireroad. Hopefully I'll be able to make it this year! Plan to ride on friday night and sunday, look for updates soon!
