Tanglewood Park

Billy and I decided to head to Tanglewood park this afternoon for an afternoon ride. I got to know Billy through coaching soccer when I very first moved here to NC. I believe that he could be qualified as my first friend when I moved here. Anyways, he was just kind of getting into mountain biking through another friend, so we started to ride together every once in a while. Today's ride was a good time, we kind of took a leisurely tour around tanglewood. After riding past the horse stables, and some of the golf course we decided to head into the woods. Nothing too special about these trails, but they are still fun and relatively close to home. A few pictures from the ride....

Stone Mountain Hike

Well, no ride today. Got to hike, though, with some friends at Stone Mountain State Park. I decided to lead them to lower and middle falls. There were about ten bazillion people in the parking lot, so as such, we decided to head to a much less traveled area of the park. Not much else to say, but it was a fun day in the woods.

One Dog Night.......ride

wow, what an awful attempt at a joke for the title...I'm ashamed! Anyways, as per the title, I took my dog Arwen out for a night ride tonight. It's been a long time since I've taken her for any ride. Essentially, she got so big that I felt she was scaring other trail users, and as such, I decided not to take her any longer. However, I decided that if I took her to a little used trail system at night, there would be little conflict with other people...hence the night ride. Since I hadn't had her out for a while, I thought it best to make it a slow short ride. Nothing special, just about a 2.5 miles, slow pace. I learned something new though; it's hard to take photos on a timer, at night, with a dog, and get a good picture...here are some attempts!

Sunday Ride

Lisa and I headed out on saturday morning to hit a greenway, but the ride was cut short when a bee or some other malicious creature decided to play pincushion with Lisa's face. This lead to an urgent care visit and lots of steroids in my tiny wife's body...allergies do some funny things to one's body!

Anyways, to wipe the slate clean, I headed out to Horizons park on sunday morning to get in a ride. I had the GPS fired up, but forgot to erase yesterdays 1 mile greenway ride. The GPS response, "you must have gone mach 5 to get from the greenway to horizons park." So obviously, no GPS stats, just know that I had fun and enjoy the only decent picture I got while out there!

I'm looking rather intense in this photo...odd...
